>>> About Us
The Foundation for African Development
began as a committee of friends in 1995 when a group of young African
professionals met together and decided among themselves to form
an organization that will help the teaming less privileged and malnourished
children in Africa. It further broadened its scope to include joining
hands with several government agencies and other organizations in
the fight to eradicate HIV/AID'S and other killer diseases in Africa
and also contributing to the economic revival and utilization of
abundant manpower and natural resources in Africa.
The mission at that time was to solicit and provide charitable
contributions that would help solve some of the continents most
serious societal and economic problems. As a result FFAD (Foundation
for African Development) was formed and subsequently incorporated
in February of 2001. The FFAD is designed to be a non-profit entity
with primary emphasis being soliciting funds for specific targeted
programs/projects in Africa. It is also the objective of the founding
members of the FFAD that such projects/programs shall be for the
primary benefit of the masses with special consideration on the
populace living in selected rural areas of the continent.
